Transmission and communication, built on strands.
Relay moves strands between people, systems and devices, in real time.
Relay is the Transmit step as an API.

Fifteen characters move. The file follows.
Relay is the transmission endpoint. It carries a descriptor between people, systems and devices, over any channel that carries text. At the other end, Decode checks the grant and the file is rebuilt.

The video shows a strand handed across a desk and regenerated on the other side. The frame below is the illustrative end state.
Illustrative, not produced by the engine.

A site survey, from the field to the office.
- 01Recorded in the field
A survey video is stored as a strand. Relay carries its fifteen characters.
- 02Sent over a thin link
A message carries the descriptor. The video stays where it is.
- 03Opened at the office
Decode checks the grant. The video is rebuilt, bit-exact.
Example scenario, not a customer deployment.
Relay is Transmit.
Step two of the four steps between a file and its copy.
- Step 1Implode
The file folds into a strand.
- Step 2: RelayTransmit
Relay carries the fifteen characters.
- Message
- API
- QR code
- Paper
- Step 3Decode
The right to open is checked.
- Step 4Regenerate
The file is rebuilt, bit-exact.
Questions about Relay
Draft answers. To confirm with product and engineering.
Does the file travel?
Fifteen characters travel. The file is rebuilt at the other end, where the cell is present and a grant allows it.
Is the descriptor a password?
No. A descriptor names a file. It does not open it. Opening needs the cell, which Implexus controls, and a grant that says who may open the file and for how long.
What does real time cover?
[Messaging, presence and notification scope: to confirm with product.]
How is it licensed?
With the engine: a licence to start, then a royalty per device that ships with the engine inside. No rates are published.
